Trauma, Grief, Fear & Racism:
The Road to Healing by Leading Courageous Conversations in Schools
Dr. Octavia Reid - Principal of Barack Obama Elementary School, Maple Heights, Ohio
Martha Jones, LISW, School Social Worker, Columbus City Schools
Help! How do we start to unpack all of this? A working conference is planned to allow participants to take a concentrated look at Trauma, Fear and Racism in Ohio schools. We will challenge you to learn how each issue affects teaching and learning. We will address building an Anti-Racist Climate in schools and how to have courageous conversations within your roles as school social workers or school personnel.
Participants will review Trauma Informed Education Principles and how to apply them when addressing issues of racism
*Registration is two steps. In your registration confirmation email will be two zoom links, morning and afternoon. Each zoom link requires you to sign in or register with zoom to access the session. Registering with zoom can be done ahead or at the time of the event. This allows us to track attendees for CEU and contact hours approval purposes.
